Smart + Strong, the publisher of award-winning, community-focused health magazines and websites, announced today the promotion of Liz Highleyman to science editor of Smart + Strong.

In this new role, Highleyman oversees the science coverage for all Smart + Strong brands and represents the company at science conferences. She was previously editor-in-chief of Cancer Health, which is published for people living with and affected by cancer.

Highleyman has been a health journalist and medical editor for more than 25 years. Prior to joining Smart + Strong in 2017, she began writing for Smart + Strong publications in 2000. Previously, she was editor-in-chief of HIVandHepatitis.com and has written for publications including aidsmap, Positively Aware, The Body, Bay Area Reporter and MedPage Today.
